I love our Florida beaches and watching the pelicans dive for their dinner. This one seemed quite content just sitting and watching.

This original Pelican Sunset art quilt was created from a photo of a pelican. I always start with the eye, even if it is a very small eye! Then I choose the colors and fabrics of the quilt. I cut each small piece of fabric and quilt the layers of batting and backing fabric with invisible thread using my sewing machine. The finished textile collage quilt is then framed with a simple black wood frame with a plexiglass front to protect the quilt from dust and wear.
